WAV Supports Little Black Dress

The WAV team came out to cheer on Lizzie Boston and Samantha (Sam) Greenwald on the runway during the return of Ronald McDonald House of Mobile’s annual Little Black Dress fundraiser. WAV was a silver level sponsor of the event, and Lizzie, Sam, and Gina Walcott were members of the Decorations Committee, using their interior design skills to model the room layout for the event and design the tablescapes. WAV’s tablescape design included palmetto palms collected from Gina’s home spray painted black and arranged in the center of each table to form a dramatic star. Gold gilded mirrors that they hand painted added to the effect.

The Ronald McDonald House of Mobile provides housing and meals for families whose children are patients at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital. As a multi-year sponsor and a frequent volunteer at the organization, WAV has seen the impact the Ronald McDonald House has made on the parents of patients being treated at USA Health. We’ve also had the opportunity to affect the well-being of those patients’ children through our design work at USA Health Pediatrics ER and USA Health’s Mother-Baby Unit. We truly believe that being integrated into our community makes us more empathetic designers, and this is just one example of how we do that.
