Community Foundation of South Alabama

The Community Foundation of South Alabama serves as a new two story office building that is located at a prominent intersection within the urban center of Mobile, Alabama. The new facility replaces the foundation’s previous and undersized office and parking lot and is located on the site as a way to revitalize and enhance the existing streetscape and address the site corner. WAV offered the full array of design services from conceptual design to full construction documentation, including full interior design services. The facility itself not only houses the Community Foundation of South Alabama offices, however it also provides community based conference and event space, a growing need within the downtown Mobile area. Tall ceilings and windows maximize the daylighting opportunities within the facility. The lobby acts as a double height volume that provides great views and intrigue directly visible from the street. The upper floor includes a rooftop plaza that offers views both to the city streets and waterfront of Mobile.
